In 1974, Marine veteran and longtime resident of Carlsbad, Keith Kennedy, began a sidewalk sale to promote downtown Carlsbad businesses. By the 1990’s, this small event had grown to become the largest one-day street faire in the nation and launched Keith on a new venture of his own–managing street faires. As with the Carlsbad Street Faire, managing events on behalf of Chambers of Commerce and Downtown Business Associations became Keith’s forte, and his reputation spread through San Diego County. As Kennedy & Associates, he managed events from the City of San Diego up to and through north county.
In 1997, Brian Roth joined Keith in Kennedy & Associates. Over the next three years, Keith passed on his unique personal and organizational skills to Brian and the next generation of Kennedy & Associates pressed on. The company focused its efforts on north San Diego County events, to include Carlsbad, Encinitas, Escondido, Fallbrook, Oceanside, San Marcos, Poway and Vista. But Keith’s legacy was always in the details of every event–provide vendors the best success (and care) possible, work seamlessly with the Chambers and Associations, and give the public a great experience.
Brian retired in 2016 and had to decide who would best carry on the Kennedy Faires Legacy and continue the High Quality service Kennedy Faires is known for. The choice was obvious. He decided to sell and transfer Kennedy and Associates/Kennedy Faires to Rick and Chris Bauer, Brian’s long-time associates and new custodians of Kennedy and Associate’s long history of excellent client/vendor service. Brian selected the Bauer’s because he trusted them and knew they would continue the Kennedy legacy forward for many years ahead. Rick and Chris possess years of experience in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Logistics, Event Planning and Customer Relations, and are dedicated to serving their client/vendor community. They have a passion for making things better for Kennedy’s vendors and clients. Collaboratively, along with their team, they have created work environments that encourages passion, creativity and great client/vendor experiences. Rick and Chris have devoted their lives to not only helping small businesses succeed, but also to the hardworking people who have helped build those businesses. Their team of dedicated people, who have contributed their skills and talents to Kennedy and Associates, is greatly appreciated. Since the inception date of Kennedy and Associates, Kennedy has expanded into new event areas within the Outdoor Event Industry by specializing in Outdoor Festivals/Fairs platforms in San Diego County.
